A Journey of Firsts for First-Time Buyers at Hatfield Rise

Preparing to welcome their first baby Ellen Reeves (38) and Havitt Shah (36) have recently moved into their first home. After viewing just one home, the couple have bought a one-bedroom apartment by Lovell Homes at Hatfield Rise just in time for the start of Ellen’s maternity leave. She comments: “We didn’t spend a lot of time looking around and viewing properties because we came here and were blown away by the space. The rooms feel much bigger than anything we looked at online and the apartment is excellent quality. Everything felt right, so we didn’t feel we needed to look any further.”

With a new baby boy on the way, Havitt and Ellen are planning to keep the home quite minimal so they can adapt the space as he grows. Ellen continues: “This really is the perfect time for us to find a home to start our family in. Knowing we are on the property ladder now gives us added security and makes the arrival of our baby even more exciting.”

Before starting this new chapter, Havitt was living 40-minutes away in Mill Hill East, with his mother whilst Ellen was living with her father in West Sussex. With some savings and a gift from Havitt’s mother, the couple secured the home. The apartments at Hatfield Rise are ideally located for London leavers, there are several buyers at the development who have all moved there from a north London suburb. The move means that Havitt’s commute to work in north London where he works as an emergency service worker is still a swift drive away; while the transport connections from Hatfield railway station to London provide easy access to the capital for weekend excursions. Ellen explains: “You get much more for your money living in Hertfordshire and the standard of living is therefore much higher.”

With friends living locally, Havitt knew Hatfield fairly well before the couple decided to settle down at Hatfield Rise. The Galleria (indoor shopping centre) features big brand outlets as well as well-known high-street shops, only a 15-minute walk away. There is also a handy choice of popular supermarkets all nearby including Tesco which is literally a few steps away from their new home. Ellen continues: “I don’t drive, so to have so much choice within walking distance is incredibly important to me. Lovell Homes is also creating a park on the development, which will be ready in the spring. Our apartment has a balcony which I know we will use a lot when the weather’s warmer. Like the rest of the home, it’s very spacious and having a private outdoor area like this will give us even more space to live in during the summer.”

A high-quality development with one- and two-bedroom apartments for sale in a Hertfordshire town which is known for its blend of history and modern living, Hatfield Rise is an impressive development. Leading the town’s ambitious plan to provide more quality new homes, it will deliver 146 new homes (37 affordable), 18 retail units, with a new green space at the heart of the development. Providing further support to buyers, Own New Rate Reducer Scheme which gives buyers access to lower rate mortgages for an initial period of two to five years, presents a timely opportunity for those looking to buy.

Havitt adds: "We believe that the one-bedroom apartments in Hatfield Rise make a perfect start for a young family, bringing a sense of security. For a newborn baby up until he is a toddler the home is ideal. Lovell did a great job in creating a safe environment here and an option for young families to get on the property ladder"

Ellen concludes: “Havitt and I were impressed as soon as we arrived at Hatfield Rise and once we were shown the apartments, we were immediately sold. It wasn’t just the homes themselves that gave this brilliant first impression. The sales team here and everyone we’ve met at Lovell Homes have provided an excellent service, they’re extremely efficient and made the whole experience an enjoyable and stress free one.”
